Pounds Recreation Centre is dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people who have faced challenges such as drug abuse, violence, broken families, and early school dropouts. For over a decade, we have provided a safe and supportive environment where healing meets empowerment—offering counseling, outreach, skills training, and temporary shelter. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to restore hope, dignity, and purpose, equipping Uganda’s youth to rise above adversity and build brighter futures.
We believe that every young person deserves to be seen not for their struggles, but for their potential. That’s why our approach goes beyond rehabilitation—we nurture resilience, inspire leadership, and empower beneficiaries with practical skills to succeed in society.Â
We provide professional counseling and ongoing psychosocial support to help children and young people heal from trauma, overcome addiction, and rediscover hope.
We equip young people with skills such as tailoring, crafts, entrepreneurship, and digital training. This opens pathways to self-reliance, employment, and business creation.
We provide professional counseling and ongoing psychosocial support to help children and young people heal from trauma, overcome addiction, and rediscover hope.
We understand that true transformation begins with healing the mind and heart. Our professional counselors provide safe, confidential spaces where children and young people can share their struggles, process trauma, and rediscover hope. Through one-on-one sessions, group therapy, and ongoing psychosocial support, we help beneficiaries rebuild their confidence, manage emotional pain, and develop the resilience needed to thrive in life and society.
