For a child without a home, healing feels impossible. Where do you sleep after counseling? How do you recover from trauma without safety and stability? At Pounds, we recognized early on that true rehabilitation cannot happen without shelter. That is why we provide temporary homes for young people going through counseling and rehabilitation.
Our shelters are more than just a roof over the head—they are places of care, belonging, and love. Here, young people are fed, clothed, and nurtured while they go through their healing journey. For some, it is the first time in years that they have felt safe enough to sleep peacefully through the night.
One of our beneficiaries, David, had lived on the streets for years after losing both parents. When he came to Pounds, we offered him not only counseling but also a safe place to stay. Slowly, he began to heal. Today, he is trained in digital skills and is working toward a stable career. His story is proof that shelter provides the foundation on which everything else is built.
Providing shelter, however, is costly. Food, utilities, bedding, and security all require ongoing support. But the investment is worth it, because for every child sheltered, an entire future is saved.
When you support our shelter programs, you are not just providing a bed—you are providing hope, dignity, and a second chance at life.
